Illinois taxes individual income at a flat 4.95%, so there are no brackets to plan around. Planning here is about credits, timing and entity choice. Most residents file the IL-1040 alongside their federal return by April 15, and an Illinois extension is automatic as long as any tax owed is paid on time.
Businesses face more layers. S corporations and partnerships pay a 1.5% replacement tax, C corporations pay income and replacement tax, and anyone selling taxable goods files sales tax returns on the schedule the state assigns. Chicago adds its own city taxes on top. Wherever you are in the state, we keep your federal, Illinois and local obligations on one calendar.

Do you work with clients outside Chicago and the south suburbs?
Yes. Clients across Illinois work with us online. You upload documents to our secure portal, meet by video and sign electronically, with no office visit needed.
Do you file Illinois state returns as well as federal?
Yes. Every return we prepare includes the Illinois return, whether that is the IL-1040 for individuals, IL-1120-ST for S corporations, IL-1065 for partnerships or Illinois sales and withholding filings.
What is the Illinois income tax rate?
Illinois has a flat individual income tax rate of 4.95%. S corporations and partnerships pay a 1.5% replacement tax, and C corporations pay both income and replacement tax.
Can you help if I moved to or from Illinois during the year?
Yes. Part-year residents file as part-year Illinois residents and may also owe a return in another state. Our multistate tax service handles the allocation.
